Parent Review of Disney+

Alright this is huge. If you haven’t steady heard Disney launched the mother of all streaming services called Disney+ and it’s AMAZING!

So what’s Disney+ you ask? Well it’s like Netflix where you pay a monthly fee (in Canada it’s currently $8.99 a month) and you have access to all Disney owned content. As long as you have internet, you can stream away. What’s more is that you’re able to download movies and shows to your device for offline streaming too. Cool right? Right!!

So I gave the app a test on my iPhone and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to anything else. First off I love everything Pixar and Disney classics are my jam. I was the generation of Lion Ling, Aladin, Beauty and the Best, ans the little mermaid. These were my JAMS! I also visited Pixar Pier at Disneyland this year and it reaffirmed my love for all things Pixar. Simply the best! So to have all of these great movies at my fingertips PLUS Disney owned content like Star Wars, Marvel, And National Geographic for only $9 a month is amazing.

Now to the important stuff, which languages are available.

Being a mom in Montreal I am raising bilingual kids and my first task was to see if any of the content was available in French. It is! And it’s super easy to bounce between both languages as you can see my screen shots below.

And by all accounts almost all of the content is available in both languages. So wether you want to watch Toy Story or Histoire de Jouets – it’s a matter of seconds to change the app language.

Now to the nuts and bolts on HOW to watch. So of course you can watch on you smart phones laptops and tablets. That’s a no brainer. You can also watch it via Apple TV and some smart TVS. APPARENTLY my TV is “smart” but I haven’t been able to get it to update so that I can see the app directly on my TV like I can now with Netflix. That’s an issue for now. Perhaps an update will have Disney+ show up eventually. The alternative is to buy those streaming adaptons like Roku. I’m not sure I’m ready to go there yet. We may. I’m not sure.

Final Verdict

So all and all Disney+ gets my vote and for family and kids I would easily say this is a great streaming options with hours and hours of content we all LOVE!

Thanks for reading.
